CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Educational Trip to Kenya

Addax Bank sponsored a student at the Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS) in Bahrain, to participate in a charitable trip to the largely underdeveloped Kihimbu-ini Primary School in Thika, north of Nairobi, Kenya. The school has 450 pupils, ranging from nursery to 15 years. ARKIS distributed stationery, books, materials and clothing, and helped to improve the facilities, including refurbishing school walls and classrooms, installing football goals, volleyball posts, and playing field markings, and providing new playground equipment.

The trip was organised in conjunction with the Les Elfes International Organization, as part of the CAS (Community Action & Service) Programme. The aim is to develop a sense of global awareness in the students and to instill in them a sense of social responsibility, both towards their local and global community and to make a difference to the lives of others who are less fortunate.
